A: The principle of laser nozzle
During the laser cutting process, the laser head nozzle collects capacitive signals, which are then transmitted to the signal processor throgh the ceramic ring. This maintains the laser cutting machine's tracking of the distance between the laser head and the workpiece, guides the auxiliary gas to pass smoothly through the workpiece being cut, speeds up the cutting process, and removes the slag, protecting the internal lenses of the laser head. Both the focused laser beam and the high-pressure gas are emitted from the nozzle of the laser head.
B: The function of the laser nozzle
i)Adjust the direction and pressure of the airflow: The internal shape of the laser head nozzle regulates the direction and pressure of the high-pressure airflow to maintain the pressure between the workpiece and the nozzle.
ii)Protecting the laser head: The nozzle can prevent the molten workpiece material from splashing back into the laser head, thereby protecting the internal lens of the laser head.
iii)Provide capacitive signals: The nozzle provides capacitive signals to the height adjustment system to ensure its stable operation.
Laser nozzle type
Nozzles are generally divided into single-layer and double-layer types. Single-layer nozzles are suitable for fusion cutting and are used for fine cutting with high precision and surface requirements. Nitrogen is usually used as the auxiliary gas and is commonly used for cutting stainless steel and aluminum alloy. Oxidation cutting adopts double-layer nozzles, and the gas flow converges and compresses twice, significantly improving the cutting effect on carbon steel. Oxygen is used as the auxiliary gas for carbon steel cutting
Laser nozzle size
The diameter of the nozzle determines the shape of the gas flow entering the cut, the area of gas dispersion and the speed of gas flow, which in turn affects the removal of molten material and the stability of the cutting process. The greater the volume and velocity of the airflow entering the cut, the more appropriate the position of the workpiece in the airflow, and the stronger the ability to spray the molten material. Users select the nozzle size based on the power of the laser used and the thickness of the metal plate to be cut. Theoretically, the thicker the plate, the larger the nozzle that should be used, the higher the pressure set by the proportional valve, and the greater the flow rate to ensure that the pressure achieves the normal cross-sectional cutting effect.
